The shadow of a shadow.

by Run out of words   Feb 1, 2007

The girl with a face,
gleeming with a smile.
Ever wondered if disgrace...
was hidden behind her chic and style?

You look at me,
you talk to me,
but yet you barely,
know what I can be.

So inside I ask myself,
who am I?
A fairy, a devil, an elf?!

For I am merely the shadow of a shadow,
hidden behind a row,
of smiles and nods,
but only the gods,
know truly what I can be.

To be a shadow itself,
hides you from the world.
But when you're the shadow of a shadow,
you're a lonely little girl.

When they read what I write,
they say it's hard to believe!
Why must the believe in sight,
rather than what wonders I can weave.

I've got imagination,
I am a radical creation,
So on what foundation...
Do you consider me naive?

Behind every word I say,
Behind the way I look each day,
Behind every poem I write,
Behind the shining light...
Behind the shadow there is no glow,
There is merely just a shadow of a shadow.

And behind that such wonders lie.
Never to be heard or seen.
The spirit of a girl much like me shall die,
because noone understood what she ever really did mean.
