As I silently make my way home
I hear footsteps approaching in the dark
I take a deep breath and swallow hard
Why'd I take a shortcut through this deserted park?

Slipping throughout the darkness
With my watchful eye
I hear her fear trembling
Within her terrified sigh

The silence is unsettling
as my body starts to quiver
I hear branches snapping behind me
I can't suppress a shiver.

She trips over her own feet
As I quickly glide her path
Mimicking her every move
Fueling my wrath

The wind whips my cheeks
As I pick up my pace
I chance a look behind me
My heart begins to race.

She took a peek at me
The look on her face
Brought me bliss
As I vanished without a trace

I'm sure I saw something move
Only for it to disappear
Is my mind playing tricks?
Am I delirious with fear?

Waiting for the right time
It was time to attack
I would find time to pounce
When she turned her back

Goosebumps along my arms
Fear slicing through my soul
Praying to make it home safe
Wishing that I was in control

I had the control now
As I grabbed this scared girl
Bound and gagged her quickly
Making her head whirl

Trying to fight back
But he was much to strong
Swept up into this nightmare
Where I do not belong

"Scream and you'll die"
I threatened her
She wiggled and fought
So very unsure

Terrified out of my mind
Trying to plead with my eyes
His were so very cold
I think I'm about to die.

She looked so pitiful
Trying to get away
I kept my tight grip
In my arms she would stay

Cutting off my circulation
His hands around my throat
Trying my hardest to breathe
But slowly starting to choke.

This girl now another victim
A notch on my belt
Undeserving pain she got
A silent death she felt.
