A Vampire's Kiss

by Jemma   Feb 5, 2007

Could you resist a vampire's kiss?
You come with a childish love driving you
You knew my nature but not my heart
Did you think that you can survive death unharmed?
Perhaps in my bitter observation of you and your kin
I have grown indifferent
Perhaps it is this worthy detachment
That keeps me standing
You offer so much yet know so little
I'm hard pressed not to take advantage
I can see it in my mind's eye
The scenario where I give into temptation
And deliver to you your fill of the senses
And you defenseless to it all
Could you remain unchanged?
Could you stay the same once you know there's something more?
Would you return with downcast eyes?
Pleading your case
As though it would make a difference
I have no mercy for human beings
With their self-important attitude
But none can surpass us
The wit, the lore and the skills of the noble vampire
Not so weak as to fall in love with the darkness
Because of one vampire's kiss
