Unfinished

by Vic   Feb 6, 2007

The days of bliss;
Days long passed.
Something great,
Just couldn't last.

Flashback romance,
That's all it is.
Nothing more
than just past-tense.

A broken heart;
Spilled ink on paper.
Wounds beat fresh
Under many layers.

Crippled and dying
A heart cries for love.
Someone please come,
Steady each throb.

Each laugh returns
With opposite effect.
Kills me softly,
I just can't forget.

Unwritten love,
An obvious feeling.
Unfinished book,
Saw no proper ending.

Quick to forget,
I envy your heart.
I'm no one to you;
But you broke me apart.

Hard to believe
There was ever an "us".
How did it end?
This love turned to dust.

Things left unsaid,
Left things unsettled.
So many questions
Still left unanswered.

What made you choose
To do what you did?
Do I deserve
What you did to me?

Was there ever love
In that heart of yours?
Why was I left
Outside locked doors?

Those days of bliss
Are days long passed.
Something so great
Stays only in the past.
