In the Midst

by Natalie Reget   Feb 10, 2007

I'm confused, stuck to my pain,
Every time I cry, I feel their gain.
But, in the midst of it, I've got a friend.
Now I needn't pretend.
He listened to me, when no else would.
He helped me more than he thought he could.
Even though he couldn't do anything, he did a lot.
He listened to me, even thought they did not.
All I needed this whole time was someone to listen.
Now that I've got that, my sorrow is missing.
I wanna thank him, but don't know how.
He's helped me so much now.
My other friends listened too,
But I think it annoyed them, true.
He promises me, he's not annoyed,
And that is nicer than anything I've heard.
