That one word

by Black night   Feb 13, 2007

Wars are fought for it,
yet it is never gained.
Lives are lost for it,
yet we always forget.
We strive to attain it,
yet it always moves away.
It is the essence of life,
and yet we do not have it.
It is that one thing that drives us to excel,
It is that one thing leads our lives.
The Japanese embezzle themselves within it,
The Chinese lived their lives according to it.
Why is that it is lost to the world,
that a simple word can change the lives of everyone?
It is that one thing that cannot be grasped,
except for those who try to grasp it
With a true and pure heart.
That one word.
Known as 'Gi' in the language of those who are ruled by it.

For us,
it is simply known,
as

Honor
