Surviving sunrise

by In_Your_Eyes   Feb 15, 2007

Dawn-oh the beauty of another day
Surely a gift from God
The light from the window fills my room-I pray

Such an endless wonder fills my mind
As the sun rises to wake the world
So weak am I, if I stared at such a marvel I’d go blind

I know I am not worthy to call upon your name
Yet you have blessed me with such a life as this
My weakness, Oh God, Fills me with so much shame

The evidence of your majesty is everywhere
I cannot believe I am one of your wonders
Made with the same devotion and care

You knew me from the beginning- knew what I would be
You knew the mistakes I would make before I walked the earth
Oh what I would give to make you proud of me

Oh how I long to hear You say
“Well done my good and faithful servant”
You will is my goal for another day

Now that I have survived the sunrise
Another day was given to me for the chance
To make myself something in Your eyes

I liked the flow and it was touching, especially those

You knew me from the beginning- knew what I would be
You knew the mistakes I would make before I walked the earth
Oh what I would give to make you proud of me
You did a good job, keep it up
