Ashes to Ashes, and Vice Versa

by Cooper   Feb 21, 2007

Ashes to ashes,
frozen rose petal slashes,
a hemorrhage; ruptures in passive embers.
Dust to dust,
injuries in which Father Time bleeds rust,
parades of funerals that no memory remembers,
delirious with trust, and hypnotized by lust.

Parodies,
humorous tongue-penned melodies,
Old, folklore bedtime stories,
ancient and New Age glories.
Infinity spins on the event horizon,
flame spawn ashes, painted in dormant space,
the tunes we sing
in harmony and disgrace
One flat foot on each Angelic, and the Devil's wing.

Peace, war,
starve promises with more.
Untalented rapists, passionate dancers;
possibly ballerinas,
dance to each other in feelings of those they adore, and abhor,
looking for Holy answers, and cures for poisonous Cancers.

Religious,
blamed with right and wrong,
mothers and fathers that believe in the prodigious,
dragging demons along, and angels to where they belong.
Count as high,
past the sky, to the why,
Bid farewell, au revoir, or goodbye;
No one cares if you do not, or do cry,
depression is the latest funk!
Eating ashes and dust until you fall drunk,
possibly inhale the remembrance until you're high.

Who_res and ladies,
men and girly dudes,
are we going to Heaven or Hades?
Or have we even yet reached the climax,
or century long preludes?

Ashes to ashes,
dust to dust,
precious golden hearts and trashes,
Love, admiration, or hate and disgust.
Here and now, then and again,
give a prayer, plea; a helping hand, say nay or agree,
give one last dinner time amen.
Today, tomorrow,
even the yesterday,
happiness or sorrow,
hunter, or prey,
Don't fall astray, or fall to Life's delay.
