One Day

by Vic   Feb 22, 2007

One day... I plan to leave
This world in peace.
I'll leave behind
My sad hist'ry.

The vows expired
Shall hold no more,
A tiresome guilt
Within my core.

One day... I hope to find
My paradise;
My salvation
From previous crimes.

A failed romance
Holds no effect.
I won't collapse
In total wreck.

One day... I'll overcome
This shame I feel.
Love I denied
Will soon be healed.

No grudges sworn
Will have deep roots.
In time, the dead
Will get their due.

One day... I won't feel this
Ongoing hurt.
Down six feet deep,
I'll rest in dirt.

To feel like trash
Each coming night.
Not anymore,
It'll end in time.

One day... I'll forget about you
And all your treats.
There'll be no more
Bittersweet tears.

Just one last string
For me to pull.
I'm sorry, dear,
I left you fooled.
