Atrocity

by Nana   Feb 23, 2007

My apologies if this poem is under the wrong category or subcategory. This poem is unfinish and I'm kind of stuck, no inspiration...

When I closed my eyes, I did see the world in its atrocity
When I open my eyes, I did feel the world that lies beneath me
I could hear the screams within the silence of the night
And I could hear the whisper of the loudness of ones fright
We shudder to think, to contemplate on the situations that besets our soul
For if we should stop and think
Our lives are not within our control
The direction of our ways at any moment can be led astray
We cannot see our end nor can we see our beginning
We originated from within and die within our sin
I can hear the words that echo through my mind
I could hear the passing of the intangible hand of time
A touch of the untouchable
Soft beneath my fingertips
A relentless aching that makes it hard and cold
Beneath my finger it turns to ashes
The soft soil that reeks with the stench of decay
Cries heard but not answered
