Why do we destroy ourselves,
i'm not excluding myself,
when i say this been there done that.

Drugs and violence is all we do
no good advice can get through.
skipping school trying to look cool,
while behind our back our "friends" calls us fools.

we join gangs
because we want a big bang,
a chance to get attention
we say it's not pretention
being a teenager it's not easy
and the situation is all greasy,
just another excuse to break down
escape and blow down.

and i agree, it may be
it's not easy being a teen
but it does not give us the right to be mean
with the people that love us
it's not fair they have to carry our cross,

there's a lot for us to do
but with our life we must go through
you have to make the right choice
you have to listen to your heart's voice

to all peace and love
and pray to lord above
that he keeps bringing us hope.
