I Knew A Boy

by shelby   Feb 27, 2007

A while ago, I knew a boy
with a smile that lit up the room.
His laugh could brighten my very worst days.
His eyes could make the girls swoon.

He taught me many things in life,
although he never knew.
And I'm sure that if you met this boy,
he'd teach you something too.

The sweetest guy I'd ever known,
His voice as sweet as doves.
Nothing was warmer than his arms,
nothing better than his love.

He had best friends that loved him dear,
He had a future ahead.
I remember every moment spent with him,
remember every word he said.

I the first boy I ever cared about,
the first boy I ever kissed.
If he only knew how he'd turn out,
if he knew just what he'd miss.

Because now the only thing he loves
is what can get him high.
A high school drop out,
He fills me with doubt,
Because he won't even try.

And now he's thrown his life away
For people he calls his friends.
He has no strength to open his eyes
And see how soon this will end.

He lost his path and he breaks my heart
each and every day.
I'll cry for him, I'll die for him.
Because he lost his way.

But I once knew a boy with eyes so bright
they'd turn my heart to goo.
I knew a boy that changed my life
and babe, that boy was you.

What happened Josh?
Come back to us.
