Sunlit Memories

When the sunlight hits my eyes,
I'm reminded of the time we first kissed,
The moment we fell in love,
So nervous we nearly missed,

You're the fire in my heart,
My will to fight,
To leave my ghost behind,
And travel to your soul at night,

Watching the stars sparkle in our dreams,
Above our weary heads,
We speak softly to one another,
As we lay in our secret flower bed,

You behold a magic happiness,
That no one else could give,
You bring a smile to my face,
And a reason to live,

When you stare at me,
I know it's more than love,
It's a message from you to me,
Sent by a silver dove,

You call me beautiful,
And you're darling,
You showed me your heart,
And gave me a special ring,

For each rose you've given me,
Will last forever untold,
I'll be right by your side,
Into the days were we grow old,

Your soul is pure and kind,
With no lies behind these walls,
I know you'll always be there,
To catch me when I fall,

Your hands they hug me tight,
And I feel your lips on mine,
I'm reminded of these days
When the sunlight hits my eyes.
