Torn Distance

by Skye Mangual   Feb 28, 2007

Distance makes the heart grow fonder so they say,
as hearts ache for the ones they love each and everyday.
The longer I am without you the more I seem to break,
the torturous wait for your presence seems more than I can take.
This distance makes our future or breaks our now,
in this I want to succeed, if only I knew how.

I'd give anything for only a moment with you again,
a chance to be held by you, it's only a matter of when.
Time has now become a burden, the distance now a dull ache,
if this absence lasts forever it's my whole that will break.
For without you I may shatter, I feel as fragile as glass,
it feels like such a deadly sin to let this much time and distance pass.

Though I always worry, cry, and bend,
our connection with stay oh so strong until the very end.
Our partnership now seems as delicate as a monarch's wing,
shall it tear or tatter it will pain worse than a wasp's sting.
In flesh we are apart, I am not with you,
but my heart, body, and mind stay completely true.

For it's only you that my blood runs warm and my heart beats still,
I bleed for you my darling and I always will.
