Our Shaded Gray

by Skye Mangual   Feb 28, 2007

Unrelenting tears keep my face from drying,
a constant broken heart will always mean constant crying.
You've broke my spirit beyond repair,
I can never be fixed again, but than, why should you care?
Your words cut deeper than any knife ever could,
your spiteful words tear me, will they stop? I wish they would.

My aching soul can't get enough of your love,
but my heart is breaking as it's not my well being you care of.
I love to hate you and hate to love you,
wish I could stop doing either one instead of two.
It's never just black or just white, but rather a sickly gray of in between,
never happy or just sad, never nice, or just mean.

How can two lovers be enemies at war?
How can we stand near a battle field and loves own door?
How can someone I love so much completely break me this way?
do you like when I cry, do you love me like you say?
Your finger points to me like I'm the only one to blame,
as if you've done no harm in this foolish love game.

I pray for a spark of hope that the bad will fade,
wait for the sun to dry the rainy mess we've made.
Hold me close and whisper sweet nothings to me,
hold me close darling and tell me we'll always be.
Because regardless of how my heart is shattered into pieces so small,
those pieces still love you truly, it's still you for whom they call.
