My Love's Fleeting Innocence

by ben thompson   Mar 2, 2007

There was once a time, before my innocence was lost.
Love was unknown to me, I searched at any cost.

Love was a magical beautiful story book of a ride.
Finding my right girl, walking with her side by side.

Stories are meir fables and dreams can never last.
My silly childhood ideas left far back in the past.

My spectrum in life has darkened as the world's shadow grows.
I've now see all love has to offer and it hurts ever so.

True love is so rare anymore its very seldom seen.
My true love left me, she escaped me in my dreams.

I wasn't sure why she left, but years have shown me why.
That girl lost her innocence way before I lost mine.
