Like that Star

by Run out of words   Mar 7, 2007

A step into the cold breeze,
and suddenly reality hit me.
I had to walk home to all my piled up work,
and that made me quite angry.

But as I walked to wards the gate,
I looked upon the sky.
And I noticed something very great,
something that nearly escaped my eye.

In the vast ocean of blue,
there lay a single star.
And that star made my day,
though it was so far.

Because the feeling I got when I saw it,
it's indescribable.
But wondering if you were looking at it you,
made me feel more than wonderful.

And I've told you this before,
and how the star made my day.
And happily you smile,
and crack a joke you say.

But really that star means alot to me,
maybe it's not about you.
Maybe it's how pure it is,
shining alone...
through that vast ocean of blue.

And I hope one I day I shall be that star,
on earth or in heaven.
I hope one day I shall shine so far,
and I'll be released from this dungeon.
My words will fly so freely,
and I won't have to think.
I'll be able to write poems,
and not even have to blink.

I'll be able to walk the road proudly,
not caring what people say.
And that is when I'll be like that star,
shining in every way.
