Who decides?

by Run out of words   Mar 13, 2007

So you told me,
what I'm doing is wrong...
And that got me thinking...
How long?!
How long are are we going to keep believing?
How long are we going to keep decieving?
How long are we going to close our eyes,
and listen to others,
not realizing their lies.

Who is to decide what's wrong or right?
Who is to decide what's moral and not?
It's like we're chained tight...
Believing everything we're taught.
With no space left in our brains,
to think and have thoughts.
And the thought of it pains,
How easily our mind rots.

So tell me my dearest friend,
What's right and what's wrong?
I'm sure you could give me a list,
Probably pretty long.
But who decides that list,
May I ask.
Because I'm pretty confused.
Who is this lucky person,
who can commit that noble task?

God I presume,
but how are we to know?
It's not like God is on earth right now,
not like he has a sign to show.
He believes in truth and doing good,
but I am confused though.
Because what is good and what is evil?
And who decides so?

So tell me my dearest friend,
What's right and what's wrong?
I'm sure you could give me a list,
Probably pretty long.
But who decides that list,
May I ask.
Because I'm pretty confused.
Who is this lucky person,
who can commit that noble task?

Who decides the good and the evil?
Who decides customs?
Who decides the rights and wrongs?
Who decides my album,
that describes the person I am?
Personally I think,
No one has the right,
to decide how I feel.
Because it just makes you sink,
Like a big shining light.
Because life my dear is real.
And so don't waste it all.
I won't waste it all.
I won't fall,
I won't be tricked.

So I ask you...
Because we've got to reveal the insides.
I ask from my heart so that this mystery ends...
Who decides?

I liked this, ,I enjoyed the theme and the questioning of today's faults and moral values of what's wrong, what's right. i liked it because it reminds me of a stream of thoughts running through a person's mind as they're contemplating life, and WHY something's wrong/right.

here though i found the rythm a little off and the plural changes to singular in "to think and have thoughts.
And the thought of it pains,
    How easily our mind rots."
i don't know if that really bothers you just thought I'd point it out

    i really liked this stanza,
"Who decides the good and the evil?
Who decides customs?...i won't be tricked"
Good read, I really enjoyed it
