Goodbye

by Amy   Apr 8, 2004

I lay down with all this emptiness
Filling every inch of my heart,
I love you very so much,
And with you I never wanted to part.

Goodbye is something
I never wanted us to say
But I guess it's come to that time
Your love has gone away.

I guess I'm just old fashioned
But I always believed in love
That when you're in love you always are
Always and forever; pushes come to shove.

I am so very sorry.
I know how much I hurt you,
If I could, I would go back and change,
But all that is done and through.

I love you more than life itself
And I always and forever will
But I guess that I can't have you anymore
Because there's so much more you need to fulfill.

I'll fake a smile,
Hold in these bitter tears,
I'll tell you my last goodbye
I'll love you for the rest of my years.

I love the "emptiness fills every inch of my heart".. that is so how the pain of a lost love feels. Another great poem!
