Hiding from Reality

by XXXrusted silverXXXwas nvr good enough to be goldXXX   Mar 20, 2007

A tendency,
Toward fantasy,
A mythical illusion.
Darkness brightened,
Senses heightened,
With the power of one's mind.
Dark salvation,
No hesitation,
Fear forgot of the unknown.
Reach inside,
Hide behind,
A wall of isolation.
Light endorsed,
Shadows forced,
To crawl into extinction.
Slip away,
From decay,
Encircling your existence.
Forget deprivation,
Loose aggravation,
Release all of your despise.
Eternal bliss,
Nothing missed,
In the world of all your own.

    I liked the format...and I didn't.
The pace was quick and desperate therefore in tone with the poem subject. However, the occasional rhyme seemed sudden and clumsy, maybe no rhyme would have been more effective.
I liked your diction....again it worked with the message you were trying to portray.
Your work proceeds your years. I didn't even start writing till I was 15, let alone be quite mastered at it. Keep writing, you've got talent.
Oh and I hope you had a nice birthday lol I read it was the beginning of this month.
