Numb

by Lonely Little Dreamer   Mar 22, 2007

The overwhelming sadness takes over.
The words of death consume the mind.
Memories fly in front of my eyes.
All in the past is where we reside.

Harder I sob for you, screaming in agony.
Guilt and anger keep the sadness company.
My face is drenched in salty tears.
I begin to rock, as I think back over the years.

My voice is gone now, words unspoken.
My head is throbbing with every beat of my heart.
Soon I feel what I truly seek, the numbness seeping in.
Into my heart, mind, and soul, where I remain alone.

Interesting poem. Pretty good, if you ask me. You've got talent, that's for sure...but watch your flow. I know, it's hard, when you're writing from the heart...but flow always makes the poetry better.
