The light

by ivkr81   Mar 24, 2007

The table, divided like city streets
by lines of fairy dust on wings
promising flight to anywhere you
(DON'T) want to go
one blink and its gone
one more, so are you.
but i wake up
from a sleepless dream
face tingling,
nose, eyes, bloody and burnt
one shaking hand reaching
grasping for reality?
the dream: my past?
my head surfacing from the murky waters of times-gone-by
i sweat at the shore
the waves of before
teasing my now dry feet.

Ohh. this poem has so much that can be absorbed. this was nicely written.

the surfacing line, you should probably edit, considering its really long and doesnt look as neat s the rest of the poem. 5/5.
