One of Those Things

by Jemma   Mar 26, 2007

It's just one of those things
When you wish the story had played out another way

Born inside a mirror
I didn't like what I saw
The world just floating by
So separated from me

I see you standing there
Your arms crossed, defiant stare
Mimicking my own evil
But I'm just my own illusion

I look straight out and we meet each other's eyes
Personification, clarification
Of what I hide deep inside

It's just one of those things

What's real? What's my own delusion?
There's no escape from what I've always known
It' just one of those things
Wishing my story had played out another way

O.O I think this is one of my favorite poems. The imagery stood out and you told the story very eloquently. 5/5

    Effective and well-delivered..nicely rounded, too......Points well-taken....

    After All..............
It Is YOUR Story, Dear...............You may at any moment begin the rewrite....(sometimes a long nap followed by a long shower and a cool face wash can really help one to move Forward..;-)
