What, When, Who, Where, How, Why?

by Teria   Apr 2, 2007

What dreams do we
with hold from the world?
What fears do we
ultimately withstand..

When childish games
play tricks on our minds,
and love; our destiny
we shall never care to find?

Who will separate us
from evil and good?
Who will understand us
like the way they should?

Where will we end up
when our destiny ends?
Where will love take us
between family and friends?

How can we forget
the remains of who we are?
How can we live when
we've drifted way too far?

Why must we continue
to wonder these things?
Why must we continue
to each live the same?

I like how the vast amount of this poem was questions. I love poems which ask questions! IMO, it makes us think, because it's as if us [the readers] are being asked the questions. Which, in a way, we sometimes are.

    "What dreams do we
with hold from the world?" - 'withhold' is all one word. :)
