She Is Numb.

by Sarah Ann   Apr 8, 2007

You could tell that she's been there
By the look in her eyes
Her torn clothing; her broken smile
Her silent plea and softer cries
As she begs all who come along
"Don't comfort me today."

It's so evident she's hurting
Like seeing two cars collide
It's burning you deep down inside
You're watching. Can't stop staring
At the frown this girl is wearing
Since he took her pride away.

There are more than just words tonight
It's about tears and rain
Silenced and rotten pain
Drenching her soul. Eating her life
And she does nothing to make it right
She dies in yesterday.

You reach out to hold her
Kiss her fears. Wipe her distress
You want to give. Give her your best.
But she falls. Still too strong.
You have failed and took too long
She is numb to live this way.

She is numb to life this way.

Very powerful and full of emotion...

There are more than just words tonight
    It's about tears and rain
    Silenced and rotten pain
Drenching her soul. Eating her life
And she does nothing to make it right
    She dies in yesterday.

This verse is outstanding! Love your style....All the best, Debbie
