On the Green

by Lithium   Apr 12, 2007

A lush green paddock,
Sprinkled with God's glistening rain,
Falling from the clouds above,
Refreshing our dried plains,
Bringing life with one simple shower,
And a smile at the sight of a flower.

Heaven shares our hopes and dreams,
Of watching our children grow,
In a land clean and pure,
In the midst of something more,
For a brighter better future,
For one to call this world there home.

You don't notice the shade, as it moves throughout the night,
The shadows disappear from dark to daylight,
A stolen kiss from lips so tender,
Young and old both surrender,
From the green grass to the burning fire,
You are my only true desire.

Rolling towards me on a soft winters night
You're breathe upon my cheek,
Through this blissful morn,
A simple black star reveals its crescent,
To the moon humble and wise,
Whispering words of love for both you and I.
