Perfect Couple

by Trixy   Apr 12, 2007

They seem like the perfect couple.
Behind closed doors
Everything changes.

He whispers sweet words
As his fist strikes her face.
His mind in a dazed
From all the drugs he took that day.

Stripes her of her dignity.
Her body used and worn.
Worthless is what she feels.

A burst of courage comes over her.
As she decides to leave.
He chases her but gives up easily.

At home
All alone
She lies down in bed.

After a day with her love.
Thinking about the words exchanged
Of the pain and tears.

Praying for the strength
To move on from the pain.
Abuse is all she can take.
Love is what she's asking.

Questioning herself once again.
Wondering if it's worth it.
