A poem inside a poem

by Krysten   Apr 16, 2007

Ink in my pen
words in my mind
the late night hour
the bell tower chimes
the words flow freely
the ink is on the page
a poem of love
sadness and rage
the emotions pour
and fill the lines
as i write
this bitter sweet rhyme
the poem is done
so now i say goodbye
for this poems subject
is my wish to die
a poem inside a poem
a death before a death
now i lay me down to sleep
and take my last breath
ink and blood have mixed
black and white and red
as i lie here on the floor
as i lie here dead
