We Grow Up With Lies

We Grow Up With Lies

Trying to rid myself of this misery
Oh this misery
Its haunting me

Like my shadow like my soul
Stuck unto me
Black as coal

Your mother taught you kisses heal
Your father says love is for real
"Its in a better place now," when it dies
As we grow older we see all the lies

You cannot run
You cannot hide
Wash away the Sun
Turn it aside
You are asleep
This is a dream
Inside you weep
You cannot breath

A simple kiss is what hurt the most
Over your mothers grave your father makes a toast
There is nothing for you when you're gone
One day you'll see they were all wrong

Try to hide myself from my mystery
Oh my mystery
Catching up to me

Like a pin under my skin
Paining me
I am the sin

Your mother taught you kisses heal
Your father says love is for real
All you need is a sweet embrace
Keep you from falling out of place

We cannot run
We cannot hide
Wash away the Sun
Turn it aside
You are asleep
This is a dream
Inside you weep
You cannot breath

Every lie hits you hard
The one standing next to you seems too far
All you need is your greatest friend
To take your hand and make today end

    What can I say?
    This took my breath away?
    Well... that's too cheesy.
    But this is really good.
    I loved that you rhymed
    But then you didn't
    It kept me waiting...
    For something I didn't know.
    Lol.
    Weird, I know.
