Hole in My Heart

Ok this poem was written for a friend, I hope I got it right...

THERES A HOLE IN MY CHEST
WHERE MY HEART USE TO BE
MY EYES THAT WERE BLIND
ARE NOW STARTING TO SEE

What used to be numb
Is now coming alive
I am starting to think
I might just survive

I'm starting to see
What you must have seen
And all of the pain
That was caused by me

It's so clear now to me
It's kills me inside
Revealing all
That I used to hide

There are times these days
I want to shove it back in
I want to quit quitting
Just one more binge

But I will not give up
I will not be weak
I will keep searching
For the peace that I seek

And this hole in my chest
Will be a heart once again
These haunted dreams
I know they will end

My eyes that were blind
Will be all too clear
Then maybe someday
You will believe what you hear
