Exiled

by Christopher Lee   Apr 25, 2007

The free the wonderous living in the past,
Strong but lifeless in their nature.
Issues at hand seem important enough,
but deeper is the meaning to understand.

True enough, rewards maybe in site,
But no forethought could land you with wife.
Treasures are still born in love's warm nights,
But little do they understand the path of a kite.

Innocent suffer through lack of a father,
so what of the man who sired both kinds of child?
He shoulders the weight of his own mental flaws,
leaving why to dig holes in his childrens thoughts.

He feels the danger creep in the door from himself,
so he fills the shoes of a father and leaves.
He did not bother to explain the rest,
wife of 10 years had gone to a hotel with some drip.

Shame and misgiving could not be shared,
Its sting too cunning for the small pair.
Sham broken open exposed for its demise,
a parnership destroyed and a heart dies.
