Pain

The pain it takes me to a place
where i can rest
and memories are erased
a peaceful calm
the sands of time
runs through my fingers
and through mind
as i relax and drift away
minutes to hours
hours to days
i begin to forget
who i am and who i was
only the pain
and what it does
and when im lost
inside my head
do i know
that i am dead
