Maybe Tomorrow Will Be Beautiful

by Lu   Apr 27, 2007

Waking with this horrible, banging headache
fearing I'm about to lose my mind
throbbing, foggy confusion
pain that is not kind

Wanting to go outside
take a walk, smell the air
sunshine adds to the tortured pain
this game life is playing, simply is not fair

Releasing my deep frustration through verse
maybe the sweet Lord will hear my call
feeling the burning in my eyes
as the tears begin to fall

Almost a week has passed
since I could enjoy a beautiful day
sadness and fear creep in as I wonder
will it steal all my sanity, before it goes away

Sitting alone crying in this darkened, lonely room
no one sees the pained look upon my face
life just keeps on rolling by uncaring
never slowing down the pace

time slows or stops for no one
and pain is just another four letter word
so I pen my sadness through words of verse
hoping my prayers to the sweet Lord will be heard

~~ And maybe tomorrow will be beautiful again ~~

**** Anyone who has ever experienced a migraine, tension, cluster or sinus headache will know exactly the pain and sadness they can cause.

It amazes me how you can take something as common as a headache and write it into something beautiful.

    Especially loved this part:

"time slows or stops for no one
and pain is just another four letter word
so I pen my sadness through words of verse
hoping my prayers to the sweet Lord will be heard"

    Absolutely breathtaking as always...Holly

I suffer with huge migraines whenever aunty Flo comes along and whenever i get really stressed. They are terrible, the flashing lights in my head, the hammer like pounding, the feeling that your head is going to implode,(less mess) the throwing up..
    It's horrible.
This poem was an excellent portrayel, especially the ending as after sleeping it off, things are always better the next day =)

Well I have headaches ma, but not nearly as bad as you experience. THe only pain that makes me sad is when its that time of the month I get the worst backaches ever to where I am in tears. And like you described here it sucks because you want to go outside and get some fresh air and sit outside and enjoy the sunshine but the pain is so much that your body is just telling you to lay on the couch.....You experience a lot more than me so I have no room to complain but pain is not fun.....Loved this poem mom
P.S...the Lord hears you and look....even though you've had migraines he's kept you alive this long to where you have the blessing to see the sunshine still :-)

The feelings of being alone with your pain comes through in the verse you have penned. Excellent job!

time slows or stops for no one
and pain is just another four letter word
so I pen my sadness through words of verse
hoping my prayers to the sweet Lord will be heard

~~ And maybe tomorrow will be beautiful again ~~

You will have many beautiful tomorrows.
    Take care
