A mother's prayer : By my mom to my brother

by Run out of words   May 1, 2007

What was it that I failed you my son
Life for you was indeed fine and well begun
No dearth of love, want or comfort did you have
What lack was it that made you such a slave ?

I still remember the days, chats and cares that we shared
Alive and fresh are a mother’s love despite the break of rules you dared
I let it go with utter confidence and trust in the values I gave you
But it looks as if my raising has been sandy and with roots few!

But now the test of time and future is looming large,
Uneasy are we as you think in your life that we barge
How could we when you mean the world to us
We want you to realize your career dreams and not lose the bus!

Do be assured that I am your closest friend and never your foe
Please get back your confidence and truth and be on the go!
Do not look back, you need to leave the morbid past
The excitement and challenge of the future is beckoning you fast!

With this backdrop son, just pull yourself together and get back your courage
Using the support that you used to give to your friends and entourage
Memories that cause pain should be buried like the dead
Let them be put to rest forever in the backside bed!

My plea to you my son, is to get strong and wise with the recent episode
Work hard and though late, you will reach your destination and dream abode
My love, blessings and support are with you as the sun’s perennial rays
Have trust and faith in yourself again, God will bless you soon in numerous ways

**This was written by my mom...I think. She may have never written anything for me, but I love her just the way she is. And I feel that she's been put through a lot because of my brother, and the least I could do was honour her work. Whether or not my brother gave any attention to it.**

Great. I'm glad you did this to honor your mother. These are the kinds of things that let people know that the rest of the world isn't a total lose. People who genuinely care are out in the vast expanse somewhere. Great write. 5/5 hands down.
