Beast

by Chad Picard   May 1, 2007

Beast
were you always so?

did you always gnaw and tear
have you always had such hair!
and muzzle filled with long sharp teeth?

Beast
so you are now called
was that always your appellation?

slavering jaws and twitching claws
find repose for a short while
rest relax
and regain yourself

Beast
you are not!
and needn't ever seem again
come with me
and remember who you are.
