Worth Leaving

by Sarah Ann   May 2, 2007

I'm wondering what's buried beneath
Your laughter deafens. Your kindness reeks
Towards the flip side of life, I never knew
So spontaneous. What will you do?

I am the stranger with your door key
Confused and barging in. You let me
My manipulating puppeteer,
What have you planned now that I'm here?

Being the stronger, long I stood
Held you as far, as long as I could
Now that I know you, I question...Have I,
Got caught up in your astute lie?

Be hushed, you sleep alone tonight
Before I leave I bid good-night
And swerve this loveliest evening
To see that you are one worth leaving

Sarah, this was such a beautiful piece! I loved the wording of this poem, it was so very tense. There was this, calm before the storm type of mood that made this poem enjoyable. I also loved the last verse, it ended the poem so perfectly. Good job on this one Sarah!
