The lying mask

by Valiantpenguin   May 3, 2007

Another wound
another scar
more blood to claim
in this god forsaken hour

a jealous scream
more tears tonight
a victorious laugh
under the soft moonlight

a new razor
a new best friend
a brand new ring
a wedding band?

a soft white dress
for the bride to be
a nice black tux
what a sight to see

a religious man
speaks words of forever
the jealous ex
give up? never

tears of joy
form in the brides eyes
tears of rage
was it all a bunch of lies?

footsteps are heard
running to the alter
someone in the isle
makes the ex falter

the mother of the groom
forces her out with rage
how sad for a girl
just recently engaged

two years later
a baby girl
brought to the young couple
what an amazing world

three years pass
the ex shows up
shes got a baby
a world of her own

who's the father
they all ask
"why, your dear husband"
so thats the man behind the lying mask
