The Perfect Cover

by Jenni Marie   May 8, 2007

Applying makeup to her face
Aiming for perfection
On goes the foundation
Smiling at her reflection.

Next comes the macara
Perfecting her light blue eyes
No one would ever guess
Each night she cries.

Next appears the blusher
Stroking it on her cheeks
Wondering, today
Which words she'll speak.

Reaching for the eyeliner
To perfect her swollen eyes
Her face almost flawless
Yet so full of lies.

Last comes the lip gloss
Making her lips shiny and full
Not a single person knows
She feels her life is bull.

Spraying on the perfume
Making her seem so full of life
Who would ever guess
She's been catapulted into strife?

Time to do her har
Secure it with clips sparkly and bright
Each and every day
She fixes her hair just right.

Choosing the perfect clothes
To stand out from the crowd
Walking down the street
She holds herself so proud.

Now she looks a million dollars
Yet she wonders when people will discover
The hair, the makeup, the clothes
It's all just the perfect cover.

I liked this the story behind it was amazingly well told. the only mistake I found was
Time to do her har>har should be hair. other than that great work. 5/5
