Static

by PygmyPuff   May 10, 2007

Silence, it lingers and hangs within the air;
blocking the sound waves that travel without flare.
Nagging at our sides, and poking our eyes,
this is the best time to have a surprise.

People, they whisper and tell dirty secrets,
Of all the past times that turned into regrets.
Energy flows through the charged atmosphere,
Some thing you just do not expect to hear.

Up in the front of the study hall classroom,
randomly there is an outstanding loud boom,
Teacher, she screams, but it was nothing new.
Thunder will roar, I thought everyone knew.
What a good time for a strident surprise.

So much nonsense,
this is crazy.
Why can't you relax?
Just think of the times when the days are hazy,
There's nothing important that this impacts.

Walking away from the rumor mill center,
Thinking of things accomplished with a mentor.
Oh what the days were, where life could be free,
Now it is lived as an interviewee.

Thinking the thoughts that come as a consequence,
Dreaming away life, in this perfect silence.
Blend in to society, hide like a wood mouse.
This conformity, this gingerbread house,
Sugar coated lies, and sweet deception.

So much nonsense,
this is crazy.
Why can't you relax?
Just think of the times when the days are hazy,
There's nothing important that this impacts.

I really enjoyed reading that and took the message to heart. I thought the message was great.

I liked this but i found the flow to be a little off in some areas and i think its because of the lines. You started off with nice long lines then in some stanzas you made them short losing the syllable count. I think this poem had a great meaning portrayed. Well done~mel

Great poem. The only thing I think you could fix the flow was a little off. Other than that it was great. 5/5
