Locked away inside
Trapped behind a broken smile
She always seems to hide
Hiding from the world
But mostly,
Hiding from herself

Her smile is faint,
Her eyes,
Guarded
Her heart is bruised and torn
Deep down she knows she still longs for someone departed
But she knows,
He's never coming back
She wonders,
If love she will always lack

The sky is darkening
Her heart grows weary of this solitude alone
Feeling empty and sad,
How can she go on?
Nothing seems to matter any more
But heartaches; there shall be many more

Her arms held tight,
Her body,
Ready for the fight
Deep down she knows she has to continue
She's determined to mend her broken wings
She'll fly again
