Blackened Heart

by The Tears I bleed   May 20, 2007

Stained within,
Plagued with sin
A heart so cold and sick,
Other souls it does prick
A blackened heart.

Down and sad,
This heart's been had
Bleeding on the inside
So many tears it's cried
A blackened heart.

Vicious and a user,
Watch out, this one's an abuser
Don't get trapped,
You'll end up getting slapped
A blackened heart.

Quiet and alone,
Everyone is always gone
A heart gets stepped on and broken
They used it as a token
A blackened heart.

Stuck-up and bratty,
This heart's really ratty
They'll push you aside
They're the reason you've cried
A blackened heart.

A cheater and a liar,
Among the roses another briar
A heart so fake and untrue,
Always the one lying to you
A blackened heart.

Blackened hearts come to be for many a reason,
Some come to bloom during the heartbreak season
But blackened hearts are some of the strongest
Even if they've been torn apart

Have you been hurt?
Were you treated like dirt?
Was a heart so beautiful and true,
The one who was hurting you?
Have you cheated and lied?
Have you been bleeding on the inside?

Look in the mirror,
Look at the one starring back at you
A blackened heart,
Lies inside of you.
