Nothing to lose.

by Sarah Ann   May 23, 2007

She's put up against the wall
Afraid of what she doesn't see
Thinking tonight she will not breathe
If he walks out that door

She doesn't understand why
He looks at life in a superb way
And she has never known that faith
Why can't she let this go?

Motivation has lost her soul
She wants to lie in bed and disappear
Welcoming anguish with the tears
That always drains her hope

What strikes her most perhaps is that
He welcomes love with open arms
Though it has done him the most harm
And she has nothing to lose...

[It makes me so sad that people like him who have lost everything are still open to love, while I, who have lost nothing, cannot be.]
