Memory Highway

by Chad Picard   May 28, 2007

On the eve of the special day of memories
I drive home through the night

blue-white flashes
red car lights
make for the monsoon
fireworks display

sheets of water pouring down
warning signs ahead

my sight is dimmed
but friend beside
and friend behind
with their vision lend me aid

without their eyes
I'd be likely dead

I'd be a past memory
on this Memorial Day.
