And I Wish She Would Burn

by justhere   Jun 12, 2007

It's a secret
That everyone seems to know.
It's a turned back
And a face afraid to show.

Lower teeth gripping right against a lip.
Fake smiles
Accompanying clenched fists.

Its glowing eyes of green
Holding fierce fire
Its your dark kept secret
Your inner desire

The salt in your wound
Meets where the grip hold his arm
Your bitten tongue.
As her fake smile charms.

Its survival of the fittest.
The corruption that doesn't end.
Its the lie you'll always tell
The broken bridge you'll never mend

Imagination running laps endlessly
Holding a tighter grip.
Words that forgive,
As you sink your own ship.

It's the hopeless battle
As you drown in your own concern
It's her obsession set fire
Wishing you would burn.
