Daddy

by Sarah Christine   Apr 21, 2004

Things will never be the same
when it's life you cannot see.
Cannot even comprehend the vision
of the woman I've come to be.
Life is a still picture
that unfolds in your mind.
All the answers,
a new beginning
you try desperately to find.
Although it pains me so
you didn't have the chance
to see me grow.
But I know in my heart
you carry a picture of me,
the way you think I ought to be.
But I still hold dear the times
when I remember you could see.
The Hell you had to go through
I guess God had meant this to be.
Through the darkness,
there is a light,
That shines on you ever so bright.
Daddy that light is me
and through the darkness
it has set you free.

My dad was misdiagnosed when I was 16. Because of the hospitals mistake, my dad is now blind. It's extremely hard to deal with even to this day. But my father lives through my eyes now and that is more then I could ask for.
