Perfect Love

by Fireflower   Apr 22, 2004

My perfect love, use to be in a castle far away,
Waiting for my prince to steal me away.

He would slay many a creature to rescue me,
My perfect love is much different from what it use to be.

Now instead of mail, my prince is clad in jeans,
His looks are rough, it is different than what it seems.

My knight would answer to my every whim,
But now my love treats me like a person, like him.

My prince would think that women do not belong,
My own love makes me realize that I am strong.

Some women want a prince who will take them to bed,
I want a man who will love and respect me instead.

I want a man who when I look into his eyes,
We know we are meant for each other, though it might take long to realise.

I use to want a prince who would sweep me off my feet,
Now all that I ask, is that he might offer me a seat.

My prince use to wield a sword,
Now my love wields the book of the Lord.

My prince probably would have died in battle,
While my love and I sit side by side in a horses saddle.

Or maybe my prince would have become a much hated king,
While my true love is adored by many a thing.

Now I know that my prince wasn\'t all he was cracked up to be.
And now I know which love was truly mmeantfor me.
