Moonlight

by Aish   Jul 22, 2007

As the sun shines in the sky the day warms up.
The children and animals play,
as the sun takes its journey from East to West.
The tulips and daffodils relish in its warmth.
*
As the chimes ring to show 1700 hours
the sun begins to fade into the horizon-
leaving purple clouds coating the sky.
*
With one last glimpse at the world it serves,
the sun sinks into the sea.
Leaving pitch blackness-insecurity...
*
The wolves howl and the children weep
Until a silver treasure rises,
And takes over the sun's duty.
*
The moon! Oh what a beautiful thing it is.
And with a million other specs of white
the world is safe once more.
*
Under the eye of the sky, and in the protection of
MOONLIGHT!
