Bleeding Hope

As I sit in my room all alone
Tears are flowing but my heart is stone
God is watching as I write my final letter
I just don't see how things can get better
He's watching as I shake in pain
There's much to lose and death to gain
He's watching as I put my razor to my wrist
I know that I shall not be missed
He's watching as I tear my skin
Over and over, again and again
Why doesn't he stop me?
Doesn't he care?
Can't he see that my life's just too much to bear?
As I start to slit my veins
I close my eye and start to pray

''Lord, I know you're watching me?
Why won't you help?
I just can't stand the cards you've dealt!
I don't want to live, I've cried to many tears
All through out my fifteen years
My parents fight and there's nothing I can do
I've left my life up to you!
You haven't helped!
Can't you hear me?!
Can't you see?!
Why have you abandoned me?!''

I open my eyes and stare down at my wrist
The bleeding has stopped and I know why
As I look at my letter and start to cry
The words have changed, that's not what I wrote
It's as if the Lord has spoke

''My child, I have not left, I'm by your side
My son, for you, I sent to die
Don't give up and don't give in
This is not where your life's going to end
You feel weak but I know you're strong
Just hang on. It won't be long
You life is going to turn around
Just have faith and don't let me down.''
