The Perfect Blemish

"If you had the power
To change one thing about me
What would you choose?"
I asked nervously.

He replied, "Nothing."
And I suspiciously asked why.
Then he turned to me
And blissfully sighed.

"Because then you wouldn't be perfect.
And I love you because you're you,
Not because you have potential
Or because I can change your views!"

I smiled and blushed
And turned away sheepishly
I looked back to find him
Staring admiringly at me

It was a blessing to find him
Someone willing to accept imperfection
One who doesn't love me to change me
But someone who loves me with truest affection

*I know the flow is off in a few places but it's actually based on something that a guy really said to me once. It was a very special moment...I hope you enjoy it too! :)

    WOW.... that's literally what I said to myself after reading that line. To have a guy say that to you must make you feel like the most amazing thing in the world. Great job, honestly.... keep it up and I'll keep checking out your work!

    I can relate to this so much Midnight and it made me want to cry
    The pure love in these words is a sight you don't see often

    "It was a blessing to find him

    The flow may be off (as you said) but when it comes from the heart, it's hardly noticeable
