God....

You think hes this great person
that hes always there to help you
he picks you up when your down
but only if you listen and try

but what if you tried that?
what if you needed someone
and he wasn't there?
what if you tried so hard
but he never showed he cared?

i tried to turn to him
gave my self up
gave up all my addictions
and asked for a little help

i was good for so long
and followed all of his rules
but what did he do?
he kept me from you

he took away your life
when you were saving mine
he couldn't let the bullet miss
it had to hit and take you away

i still followed his rules
i still asked for the strength
i tried to hold on
for my mothers sake

but he showed no sign
that he was there for me
he made my life worse
made me feel the defeat

i believed for so long
that he would help me through
help me see the light
see what i should do

but he made things worse
he didn't help at all
makes me wonder
what do they see in this God?
